There’s No Place Like Home – Even If You’re A Polar Bear

Starting next week, you are likely to see polar bears popping up everywhere—on TV, in movie theatres, at the grocery store, on your phone, on the web—all thanks to a new initiative launched this week by Coca-Cola and World Wildlife Fund in partnership with One World One Ocean and our upcoming IMAX® film To The Arctic 3D—a co-production with Warner Bros. Pictures and IMAX Corporation scheduled for release in IMAX® theatres in 2012.

The initiative is called Arctic Home and it’s a bold international campaign to create a sustainable and safe habitat for polar bears in the Arctic Circle while also recognizing the needs of local communities in the area.

For the first time in its 125-year history, Cola-Cola is turning its signature red cans white in honor of the polar bear and inviting consumers to get involved by making a $1 donation to WWF’s conservation efforts.  People can text their donation at 357357 or by visiting

OWOO, in collaboration with MacGillivray Freeman Films, is supporting this exciting campaign by doing what we do best: using film to tell a compelling story.  Beginning in November, Coca-Cola’s “Arctic Home” television commercials and website content will feature sneak preview footage from To The Arctic 3D, which tells the intimate story of a polar bear family as they navigate a changing Arctic world.

This is the first time an IMAX film has ever been so extensively integrated into a cause-related public engagement campaign of this scope—and we’re excited to be a part of it.  Our footage will help bring the polar bear story to life and inspire people to take action to protect this iconic animal.
