UK Climate Week Features Polar Bears
The UK’s second annual Climate Week, the nation’s biggest environmental event, has kicked off with half a million participants. Schools, businesses, and charities are hosting 3,000 events across the country – from science lectures and tree plantings, to sustainable fashion shows and pub quizzes – all to engage, educate and inspire action on climate change.
ARKive, a UK-based website devoted to collecting and sharing wildlife multimedia has a “Climate Week Species of the Day” series on their blog, highlighting species at risk due to climate change. Yesterday’s post put polar bears in the spotlight, discussing how sea ice reductions are restricting their access to food.
Fair Play to the UK!
